Return Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 27, 2026
Information you add
Return stores the names, relationship labels, optional phone numbers, reminder schedules, reminder messages, and interaction notes that you choose to enter.
Contacts
When you choose someone from iOS Contacts, Return receives only the contact you explicitly select and the phone number you choose. Return does not request access to or copy your entire address book.
Photos and videos
When you attach a photo or a video to a moment, or set a picture for a reminder, you choose whether to capture it now or pick something already in your library. iOS asks your permission either way, and hands Return only the one item that results. Return copies that file into its own storage on this device so the record survives changes in your photo library. It is never uploaded, and Return does not read, scan, or index the rest of your library.
Camera and microphone
The camera is opened only when you choose to capture a photo or video for a record, and the microphone only for the sound of a video you are recording. Return does not open either one in the background or at any other time, and what you capture is stored on this device exactly like anything you pick from your library.
Where your data lives
The current version stores your Return data locally on your device — including any photos and videos you attach. It does not create an account or upload this data to Return, Cyrus Minsky Studio, or a cloud service.
Notifications and phone calls
Reminder schedules are registered with the notification system on your device. If you tap Call, iOS opens the Phone app. Return does not access call audio or call history.
What Return does not do
Return does not sell personal data. If a future version introduces advertising or related third-party services, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before that version is released. The current version does not use analytics or tracking to profile you across apps or websites.
Deletion and retention
You can remove a person or animal inside Return, which permanently deletes that item and its interaction history from the app database on this device. Uninstalling Return removes its remaining local data, subject to your device backup settings.
Future cloud features
If a future version introduces optional accounts, cloud backup, or shared family circles, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before those features are made available.
